Safely dispose of unwanted household chemicals – for free!
Clear out unused, out-of-date or unwanted household chemicals laying around your home, garage or shed at Council’s Chemical Clean Out events in August 2025 – a safe, free and environmentally responsible way to dispose of hazardous waste.
Held over two weekends at two locations:
Charmhaven
- Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August 2025
- 9am-3.30pm
- Council’s Charmhaven Depot, 137 Chelmsford Rd, Charmhaven NSW 2263 (enter via Depot Road)
Kincumber
- Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 August 2025
- 9am-3.30pm
- Former Kincumber Waste Management Facility on Cullens Road, Kincumber.
Note: this facility remains closed, however it is open for the Chemical CleanOut event
What can you drop off?
Paint tins, pesticides, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, fluorescent globes and tubes, as well as any unknown or unidentified chemicals which are accepted for identification and correct disposal.

This program is for households, not businesses – so only household qualities are accepted. A maximum of 20 litres or 20kg per item applies except for paints and varnishes where up to 100 litres are accepted in maximum container sizes of 20 litres or 20kg.
Remember to transport material safely by keeping chemicals in their original container and remaining in your vehicle during drop-off.
