Get ready for a turtley awesome time as we shellebrate our incredible reptilian friends!

Turtles rule!

Springfield wetland is home to a healthy population of freshwater turtles. Local residents and scientists from the University of Western Sydney have just installed a special 'turtle island'.

Come along and find out why!

  • Learn about the threats facing our turtles and how you can help by joining the 1 Million Turtles program.
  • Get training on what to do if you see a turtle on the road and how to protect turtle nests!
  • Become a Citizen Scientist by uploading your sightings to TurtleSAT.
  • Join a hands on waterbug hunt.
  • Get up close with some real live turtles at the wildlife show by Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park.
  • Morning tea will be provided.

  • This event is for Central Coast residents only.
  • General level of fitness required – short walk along pathway and uneven grassed area.
  • Family friendly.
  • All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Parent/Carers must remain at the activity site at all times.
  • Free but bookings for this program are essential.
