Turtles rule!
Springfield wetland is home to a healthy population of freshwater turtles. Local residents and scientists from the University of Western Sydney have just installed a special 'turtle island'.
Come along and find out why!
- Learn about the threats facing our turtles and how you can help by joining the 1 Million Turtles program.
- Get training on what to do if you see a turtle on the road and how to protect turtle nests!
- Become a Citizen Scientist by uploading your sightings to TurtleSAT.
- Join a hands on waterbug hunt.
- Get up close with some real live turtles at the wildlife show by Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park.
- Morning tea will be provided.

- General level of fitness required – short walk along pathway and uneven grassed area.
- Family friendly.
- All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Parent/Carers must remain at the activity site at all times.
