Heritage support and resources

Heritage resources are available to support the community in understanding, protecting, and celebrating the Central Coast’s unique heritage. Whether you’re maintaining a heritage listed property, planning a development, or simply interested in local history, these materials provide valuable guidance on heritage significance, planning controls, conservation practices and relevant policies.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list. Additional resources may be available through State or National heritage bodies, and we encourage you to get in touch with Council’s heritage team or library services if you’re looking for something specific.

Upcoming projects and engagement

  • Central Coast Development Control Plan Heritage Conservation Chapter review: Council has undertaken a review of the current Chapter 3.6 Heritage Conservation in the Central Coast Development Control Plan 2022. The revised chapter will be presented to Council prior to public exhibition.
  • New Heritage Listings Planning Proposal: Council has commenced preparing items for listing under the Central Coast Local Environment Plan 2022, using a Planning Proposal process. This process requires a Council resolution to seek Department of Planning endorsement, public exhibition and consultation with the community. Public submissions and comments are welcomed and reviewed before reporting to Council and amendment of Schedule 5 of the Central Coast Local Environment Plan 2022.
  • Wyong Town Park Conservation Management Plan: Council has received grant funding to prepare a Conservation Management Plan for Wyong Town Park. The CMP will be prepared between FY25/26 and public engagement will commence in 2026.
